The 2011 winner of Miss World beauty pageant is Miss Venezuela, Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colimenaraes.Sarcos Colimenares, 22, was crowned the winner at a final ceremony in London on Sunday. She accepted the crown from last year’s winner Alexandria Mills of the United States.“I felt the most gorgeous woman in the world,” Sarcos Colimenares told AFP. “I was so happy and I wanted to shout, to cry, to stand still and to smile. So many emotions.
“I’m incredibly happy for this moment, for this opportunity and for winning and I’m grateful with my life.”Sarcos Colimenares has a degree in human resources and works for a broadcasting company. She was orphaned at the age of eight and was raised in a nunnery.
"Winning means everything to me and I hope to take advantage of being a winner in a productive manner," the winner said. "I first and foremost want to help people in need.”
Miss Venezuela, 22-year-old Ivian Lunasol Sarcos Colmenares, was crowned Miss World 2011 in a final ceremony at the beauty pageant. Last year's winner, Alexandria Mills of the US, handed over the crown to Sarcos Colmenares in the 61st annual contest at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London.
Miss Philippines, Gwendoline Gaelle Sandrine Ruais, was named the first runner-up, and Miss Puerto Rico, Amanda Victoria Vilanova Perez, placed third.
Sarcos Colimenares, who triumphed over 100 other contestants to win Venezuela's sixth Miss World title, currently works for a broadcasting company and one day hopes to promote NGOs and work with children, according to her biography on the pageant's website
